Our Company

CTS Ltd formed in August 1999 with a board of four Directors and commenced trading on 1st November 1999.

In April 2002, the company changed ownership and the two previous shareholders and non-working Directors resigned their positions. The company is now wholly owned by the current Managing Director, Steve Holmes who is fully supported in the running of the business by a strong management team. Sylvia Howard, Operations Director retired in March 2006. Gary Richardson was appointed Senior Operations Manager in July 2006 and promoted to Operations Director in February 2007.

The majority of our business is in Government funded training and we feel that our niche in the market place is in the delivery to socially disadvantaged and disengaged clients of all age groups. We specialise in the ‘hardest to help’ client group, with many of our clients having a plethora of learning and social needs that we strive to address in the course of their training programmes. Our aim is to provide learners with the skills, motivation and work ethic to continue into employment, further education or work based learning including apprenticeships.

The organisation has more recently further strengthened its position by relocating to prime City Centre accommodation with easy access for our clients, funding bodies and referral agencies. This has already had a direct impact on the number of clients attending our programmes due to its excellent facilities and location.

We have good working relationships with funding bodies, and partnering organisations, and have significantly contributed to the social inclusion agenda’s of not only the funding bodies, but Sheffield City Council through the delivery of the City Stewardship programme.

With the ever changing face of the industry, and the wish of the funding bodies to cut out poor quality and poorly performing provision, additional tendering opportunities will present themselves. CTS is currently taking steps to position itself to respond to these likely tender opportunities with a view to business growth, expansion and diversification, and to explore the potential of spreading our delivery geographically across South Yorkshire and maybe wider.
