A Grand Day Out

August 28, 2007

Some of the Adult Programme team took some learners to Clifton Park Museum in Rotherham on 15th August. The museum, as well as being informative, allows visitors to have a ‘hands-on’ experience of history, with regular cookery sessions on the restored Victorian Range, fun events for all the family, an interactive Jungle playroom for the kids and even the occasional play, complete with period costume!

The day out was a fun and informative one, packed with literacy and speaking & listening exercises for the learners to complete as they walked around the museum. It was enjoyed by all and for some of our learners a place to go back and take their children too.

New Interactive Whiteboards

July 1, 2007

CTS have recently introduced Promethean interactive whiteboards into some of its training rooms. The whiteboards, partly funded by the Learning and Innovation Grants through the Association of Learning Providers, have been a great success with tutors and learners alike. The whiteboards enable tutors to make classroom sessions more engaging and interesting for the learners, particularly when the subject matter may be a little dry.

The whiteboards can be used for interactive sessions using audio, video and a voting system similar to the “ask the audience” on Who wants to be a millionaire.
